    Riders, in consultation this morning with ABIA Airside OPS, this honor line mission is a STAND DOWN. Going onto the active tarmac in the dark and in the rain is pushing the safety envelope a bit too much for all involved. The funeral portion on Monday, 05 December is still a go.     The family of PFC Glenn Saunders has requested the presence of the PGR at his return to central Texas. PFC Saunders passed away on 20 November at Ft Lewis, Washington. PFC Saunders is a 2011 graduate of Harker Heights High School and had just recently completed basic training.

    Date/Time: Sunday, 04 December. Aircraft arrival scheduled for 7:05 pm.

    Location: Austin Bergstrom International Airport. PFC Saunders will be returned via a Southwest Airlines flight.

    Austin staging: We will stage on the airport property, parking along the side of Spirit of Texas Drive where it dead ends. The address is 3400 Spirit of Texas Drive. Please follow the ride captain’s parking directions.

    Directions: From Hwy 71, take the airport cargo exit onto Spirit of Texas Drive and proceed to the end of the road. Map link: tinyurl.com/ABIASpiritDrive

    Timeline:
    6:00–6:20 pm staging
    6:20 pm briefing, with movement to the tarmac to await flight arrival per ride captain direction.

    Wx: Cloudy, high 52 deg in the morning, with slowly falling temps throughout the day. 70% rain chance. Please remember your drinking water, there will not be a flag truck present.

    Notes: This will be an honor line mission at the airport only. Please fly your bike flags if so equipped. PFC Saunders is being transported to Copperas Cove. There is no procession planned from the airport.

    The PGR has been invited to participate in the funeral service in Killeen on Monday, 05 December. Please visit http://www.centexpgr.org for mission details. Interment service to be at Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio on Tuesday, 06 December.
