    The family of Mr. Herman Brinkmeyer has invited the PGR to participate in his funeral and interment services. Mr. Brinkmeyer served in the US Army Medical Service Corps, 1942 – 1945, locating and delivering medical supplies in many theaters of the war, including South Africa, France and Germany. He left the service as a Tech 4.

    Date/Time: Friday, 30 September. Funeral service scheduled for 10:00 am.

    Timeline:
    8:15 – 8:45 am staging
    8:45 am briefing
    9:00 am KSU for approx. 15 min ride to the funeral home in Taylor

    Wx: Partly cloudy, low 70, high 90 deg.

    Notes: Please arrive fed, fueled, and hydrated. We will form a flag line upon arrival at the funeral home. Following the funeral service we will also form a flag line for the interment service at the Taylor City Cemetery.

    “Subject: Mission for Mr. Herman Brinkmeyer

    30 September 2011
    There were eight bikes and one cage for the service. The north wind was
    strong from the front that came through as we traveled. Keith's
    granddaughter, Sam, was there. She is waiting on orders to report to
    Navy boot camp. We all wish you good sailing Sam.
    A military team was expected to be there to fold the flag and play taps.
    That did not happen. Terry and I folded the flag. Learning from the
    experience: Terry had two sets of white gloves. I borrowed one set from
    him. Thanks Terry. I'm going to buy two sets to carry since I have
    mislaid mine. Terry made a suggestion that the PGR needs to consider
    buying a bugle. The flag was folded without taps. Should we also
    consider buying rifles?
    The family was greatful that we were there.
