    Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the memorial service for Lonnie Ralph Dean. Mr. Dean served in the US Navy from 1961 – 1965. He left the service as a Petty Officer Third Class.

    Date/Time: Saturday, 14 September 2019. Memorial service begins at 10 am.

    Location: Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Avenue, Kingsland, Texas 78639. We will stage at the funeral home.

    Timeline:
    8:50 – 9:20 am – Staging
    9:20 am – Briefing
    9:25 am – Flag line

    Wx: Probably still hot out

    Notes: Bring extra water for yourself and for a friend. Sunscreen recommended. This is a flag line only for the memorial service. After the start of the service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.

    This Mission is now complete. There were 4 Bikes, 2 Trikes, 3 Cages with 11 members in attendance. One member today had ridden with the PGR before but this was his first Mission with the Austin PGR. Soup presented him with a "Mission Accomplished" pin to welcome him to the Group. As our newest "RC in Training" Soup Campbell took charge of the Mission and did an excellent job. He has my support for sure. Also doing a great job as usual were Nicki as Flag Wrangler and Patsy who did double duty as my helper and Soup's helper during the Mission. A special Thank You to both of you Ladies.

    We had a request from Lonnie Deans family for a "Special Departure" as we were leaving the Memorial. Earlier I had told the FD that once the Memorial started we would "Quietly" depart. Just before the Memorial started the FD came out and told us that Mrs. Dean wanted us to, in her words, "Let Her Rip because Lonnie would love it." They waited to hear us leaving as a start to the Memorial. Thank you Mrs. Dean and RIP Lonnie Dean.

    Thank you to all in attendance today. I appreciate each and every one of you. I hope all made it safely back home.
