CONFIRMED SAN ANTONIO MISSION
Sgt. Torres – Army KIA
Escort – 29 Aug 2012 – San Antonio, Tx
The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family to assist with the escort of Sgt. Louis Torres, who died at Brooke Army Medical Center of wounds suffered when he encountered an enemy improvised explosive device, on August 6, 2012, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, while assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
The Patriot Guard will escort Sgt. Torres on Wednesday (Aug 29) from Brookhill funeral home in San Antonio, departing at 8:45am, to Randolph Air Force Base, where he will be flown home to Ohio for services and interment. Depending on the route taken, it will be around 20-25 miles. I am also still working with Randolph Air Force Base in regards to what the PGR may or may not be allowed to do upon arrival, since we have not escorted into RAFB before, so be prepared for changes in the morning, as always, Semper Gumby. If available, please try to attend to honor and help escort one of our Fallen Heroes as he travels home to rest. Thank you.
