Final Itinerary

Riders, the PGR has been invited to participate in the homecoming of the 1st Squadron, Alpha Troop, 1-112th Cavalry Regiment (Ghost Riders), Texas National Guard out of Taylor. You may recall we enjoyed greeting a bus load of soldiers from this regiment when they returned home back in August.

Date/Time: Saturday, 11 December 2010. Flight arrival via SWA charter is expected at 11:00 am.

Staging Location: We will stage at the US Postal facility at ABIA.

Directions: From TX 71, take the ABIA CARGO exit and turn south onto Spirit of Texas Dr. At the first stop sign, turn right onto Freight Lane. Stay left at the fork and continue to USPS facility parking lot, which is on the right at the dead end. Map link: tinyurl.com/ABIAPostal

Timeline:
10:00 – 10:15 am staging
10:15 am briefing
10:30 am (approx), relocation from the staging area to the terminal/tarmac, pending ABIA approval.

Wx: Mostly sunny, low 52, high 72, in other words, a beautiful day. Please remember to bring two bottles of drinking water. The flag/water truck will not be present.

Notes: This charter flight may arrive early, so semper gumby. The soldiers will de-plane onto the tarmac to waiting buses. The LEO escorted procession will then depart for the 60 mile trip to the Guard Armory at 1411 N. Main in Taylor. The route will be determined by the organizers. If we end up on the toll road, individual riders are responsible for their toll charges. This is a procession only, with no intermediate stops, and no flag line.
